Seagrass cord is a twisted product which looks like coarse string or fine rope. When new, it is the colour of freshly mown grass but it mellows to a rich golden colour as it ages. It is used in the making of seagrass chairs (a type of wicker chair found in Australia where the weavers are made from seagrass) and as a decorative material in basketry and other crafts. We have two sizes: very fine (2-3mm) and fine (3-3.5mm). Medium is not available at present. . Prices Fibre rush is a man-made fibre product used as a substitute for real rush, which is not easily available in Australia. Fibre rush is tough and long lasting and looks similar to real rush. It is available in a several sizes in Kraft Brown. Its main use is for reseating country style rush seated chairs. Danish cord is another man-made paper product used to make woven seats on various Scandinavian designer chairs. Prices There are several plaits available. It is used for decorative edging on cane chairs, tables, etc. Wicker plait is made from core cane and is 1.5 inches (38mm) wide. Fibre plait is made from twisted paper (similar to that used on Lloyd Loom chairs). Several sizes include: 3/8 inch (10mm), 1/2 inch (12mm), 3/4 inch (19mm) and 1 inch (25mm). Prices
